Modern Office

ITDev is located in a modern well-equipped office, Kenneth Dibben House, on the prestigious Southampton Science Park. We have a large open plan office, a meeting room and access to shared facilities such as conference rooms.

Lab Facilities

ITDev has a dedicated on-site lab where we perform hardware test and evaluation. We also have facilities to build and rework prototype hardware. Our lab is equipped with ESD flooring and workstations.

Simulation Hardware

ITDev has a number of high performance servers dedicated to running CPU intensive hardware simulations. These are also used for other tasks where extra computing power can improve our efficiency, such as synthesis and FPGA place and route.

IT Infrastructure

We benefit from high speed, low latency access to the Internet via a Point of Presence located here on the science park. We own a server cluster which hosts virtual machines to run our IT systems and internal development tools. This cluster and our other servers employ redundant hardware where appropriate including RAID disks and battery backup.

Security

In addition to redundancy based safeguards against hardware failure, all of our critical data is automatically backed up to a remote site every night to mitigate impact in the unlikely eventuality of fire or theft.

Our backups are performed by data being pushed to a local virtual machine that cannot access any other machines itself. Our offsite backup server then logs into this virtual machine to transfer the data off site. This means that if the security at either site were to be compromised, it would not be possible for a hacker to delete all copies of our data.

We also perform a regular manual backup of our data in an encrypted format to a portable device which we physically take and store offsite.

We take cyber security seriously with rigorous firewall configurations and automated active monitoring and control of access to our servers.

Our premises are fully alarmed, including police response, and there are frequent patrols of the building by security staff outside office hours.

Client Portal

ITDev hosts a comprehensive online client portal.
