What information do we gather?
We collect data for processing a candidate’s job application. We also collect data for our talent pool on individuals that are interested in working for us in the future. We only collect data that is relevant for these purposes and is allowable by UK law.
The information includes: Contact details, qualifications, skills, experience, covering letter, CV, ID, right to work status, and consent details.
What do we use the information for?
For job applicants we:
- Check the candidate’s eligibility to work in the UK without restrictions.
- Assess the suitability of a candidate for employment.
- Organise screening tests and interviews.
- Offer jobs to the strongest candidate(s) and reject others.
- Perform a statistical analysis on recruitment activity and performance.
For individuals in our talent pool, we may contact them from time to time about new job opportunities and company news.
Who has access to the data?
Information is shared on a need-to-know basis. This includes the ITDev HR Team, Recruitment Team, Interviewers, Department Managers and external consultants.
What happens if I withhold data when applying?
We may not be able process your application and your application may be unsuccessful.
How long do you retain my personal data when I apply for an advertised vacancy at ITDev?
We keep complete recruitment records associated with a vacancy for the duration that the vacancy is open. In addition, we retain these records for a further 12 months.
If you are successful in gaining employment with us, then your information will be retained as part of your employment record.
If your application for an advertised position is unsuccessful, we will only retain your full records beyond the 12 month period with your specific consent. In this situation your information will be used to process any future applications from you as efficiently as possible, and if you wish, you may be added to our talent pool.
How long do you retain my personal data when I register my interest in working for ITDev or send ITDev a speculative CV?
We will retain your records in our talent pool until you withdraw consent (see below).
How do I withdraw consent?
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org making it clear that you withdraw consent.
Whenever we contact an individual about new job opportunities or with company news, we will always provide an easy mechanism for withdrawing consent.
When there is no lawful basis for processing an individual’s personal data, and we no longer have an individual’s consent to use their personal data, data which identifies the candidate will be anonymised or deleted, and the remaining data will only be used for statistical analysis.

We ensure that the environmental impact of our activities, products and services is kept to a minimum. We also undertake to assist our clients with their environmental targets too.
Our practices include:
- Creating low power designs.
- Using virtualisation technologies to keep the number of servers and energy used to a minimum.
- Turning off all powered equipment when not in use (e.g. computers, monitors, lighting).
- Offering flexible working hours to avoid rush-hour travel and to reduce pollution.
- Only using paper when absolutely necessary and always printing double-sided.
- Using recycled paper or paper from sustainably managed sources.
- Sending documentation electronically instead of by mail (e.g. invoices).
- Purchasing multiple items in a single order to minimise transportation.
- Using local suppliers where practical.
- Reducing, re-using and recycling waste material.
- Passing redundant IT equipment to local charities for refurbishment and re-use.
- Using video conferencing equipment/web meetings in preference to long distance travel for meetings.
- Using the train for long journeys.
- Encouraging cycling to the office (our offices are equipped with a shower and cycle racks).
- Using rechargeable batteries to reduce waste.
- Encouraging our customers and sub-contractors to uphold similar environmental standards.

Code of Conduct
We support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights. We make sure that we are not complicit in human rights abuses.

The safety of our employees is paramount. We have an internal health and safety policy with related procedures. Our HSE officer conducts regular risk assessments which all our employees are able to contribute to.
Our employees are free to form and join a trade union of their choice without fear of discrimination and can bargain collectively.
We do not use forced labour and we do not use child labour (directly or indirectly).
We do not participate in bribery or improper offers, whether internal or external. We are against corruption in all forms. If a conflict of interest was to arise then we would immediately notify the parties involved.
