After acquiring thorough knowledge of the fundamental physics of ultra modern semiconductor processes, such as finfet and FD-SOI technologies, at Southampton University Andy joined Rutherford Appleton Laboratory as a Microelectronics Engineer. Having discovered a passion for modern semiconductors and low-level design with practical applications he soon specialised in FPGAs. Andy likes to apply theoretical knowledge to practical purposes typified during a 3 month placement at the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh where he utilised his knowledge on infra-red photo detector science and high-speed electronics to contribute to the GHOST project (GreenHouse Observations of the Stratosphere and Troposphere). Andy joins the team with 2 years of FPGA experience and will expand ITDev's FPGA capabilities.
