Goodbye to our summer interns

After a succcessful three months working at ITDev, we'd like to thank our departing interns, Ben (currently studying at the University of Southampton), Oisin (also from University of Southampton) and Matthew (from the University of Warwick). The interns made some great contributions to our work, with Oisin also representing ITDev at the Electronics and Computer Science Taster BBQ at the University of Southampton as well as at the UKESF Girls into Electronics event. We'd like to wish Ben and Matthew good luck as they enter the final year of their BSc studies in 'Computer Science' while Oisin will be returning to Year 3 of his MEng in 'Electronic Engineering'.

'All three interns made a great impression here at ITDev and we're looking forward to keeping in touch and hearing their news as they progress through their studies.' says Bruce Mitchell, Managing Director.

New starters

In line with our strategic growth plans, we're delighted to welcome two new starters next week: Norbert and Kiran. Kiran was our first UKESF sponsored student and having spent two enjoyable summers working for us, is returning to join the hardware team. Norbert and Kiran recently graduated from the University of Southampton: Norbert in 'Embedded Systems' (MSc) and Kiran in 'Electronic Engineering with Computer Systems' (MEng). Norbert and Kiran will be joining our team of existing graduate engineers.

Solent Business Award nomination

Finally, as testimony to the strength of our business culture and the values we embed in all aspects of our work, we're delighted to announce that ITDev has been nominated as a finalist in the 'Best Company to Work for' category in the 'Solent Business Awards'. As part of the selection process, we had an enjoyable visit from the category judges, BDP Pitmans, where they were able to experience the company culture and interview the Directors. As part of the nomination, the judges highlighted our 'Open, friendly, genuine approach with weekly staff polls to generate business ideas and new products; plus an impressive internship programme.'

We're looking forward to the Awards Dinner with the other high calibre finalists, The Mayflower Theatre and Bluebird Care Gosport, as well as all the other entrants and attendees, next month.
