ITDev provides fully managed technology design services from its modern high-tech offices on the Southampton Science Park. Despite being a small company with a family atmosphere, our software and electronics designs touch the lives of millions of people every day. Whether it is through our contributions to the Android operating system, or through our work on broadcast equipment that delivers television content throughout the world, you have probably experienced the results of some of our projects already.

We are conveniently located on the outskirts of Southampton close to the M27 and M3, and easily commutable from the south of the M4 (Newbury: 40 mins, Basingstoke: 35 mins).

As part of the strategic plan for 2017 we will be recruiting a hands-on Junior Systems Administrator to support our IT systems. They will report to the IT Manager.

In addition to your IT responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to be allocated part-time, as a software engineer, to internal and external software projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing day to day IT provisioning, maintenance and support.
  • Maintaining the backup and monitoring services.
  • Implementing and commissioning new IT systems.
  • Administering 3rd party IT services such as web domain providers, DNS management, internet, email and VOIP.

The Software Design group work on a variety of client projects from short to long term, in multidisciplinary teams of between 2 and 8 people. They are continually assessing the latest agile design methodologies; adopting and refining them where beneficial. The successful applicant will be expected to adapt to a variety of design and projects workflows.

The primary role of the successful candidate will be to develop FPGA designs for ITDev's clients using VHDL or Verilog. We offer a broad range of services from specification and design, right through to evaluation and production test support. As such, this role is likely to include some involvement at every stage of the design cycle. In addition, opportunities will be available to gain experience in software development, and the perfect candidate will demonstrate an interest and aptitude in both hardware and software.
