Chris

Principal Consultant - Electronics Engineer

BSc - Aerospace System Engineering, PhD - Automatic Control Theory, University of Southampton

I joined ITDev in 2026 as a Principal Consultant, bringing experience across embedded software, control systems, DSP and FPGA development. Throughout my career I have worked on a wide range of products including telecommunications infrastructure, scientific instrumentation, industrial control systems and embedded Linux platforms.

My background combines low-level embedded development in C and C++ with system architecture, signal processing and real-time control. I have worked extensively with ARM and DSP processors, FPGA technologies including Verilog and VHDL, and the development of hardware/software integrated systems. Previous roles have included technical leadership positions in both established engineering companies and startup businesses, including co-founding and leading telecoms and instrumentation ventures in Cambridge.

I particularly enjoy solving complex technical problems and working across the boundary between hardware and software, from initial system architecture through to debugging and product delivery.

Outside of work I enjoy exploring new technology, engineering ideas and software tools, particularly in the areas of modelling, simulation and embedded systems development.
